Breaking the Silence Project

Breaking in Silence Project
August 2025 – May 2026
The Breaking in Silence Project was a year-long initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of LBQ+ and marginalized women while addressing the mental health challenges they face. Running from August 2025 to May 2026, the project combined storytelling, capacity building, and psychosocial support to create safe spaces for healing and expression.
Key Components of the Project:

Documentary Production: We produced a powerful documentary that captured the lived experiences, struggles, and resilience of LBQ+ women. The film served as both an advocacy tool and a platform for visibility.
Workshop: A capacity-building workshop was held to equip participants with skills in storytelling, self-advocacy, and digital documentation. The workshop also created a supportive environment for peer learning and collective healing.
Mental Health Support: Recognizing the emotional toll of silence and marginalization, the project provided professional mental health support, including counseling sessions and psychosocial care, to help participants process trauma and build emotional resilience.

The project successfully created a safe space for women to break their silence, share their stories, and access support while contributing to broader conversations around mental health, identity, and inclusion.
