Beyond Forced Marriage Economic Empowerment Project

The project began with a four-week, in-person practical training, where participants were introduced to four key skill areas:

- Graphic Design & Social Media Management: Participants learned how to create engaging digital content, develop visual designs, manage social media platforms, and use digital tools to promote businesses, organizations, and personal brands.
- CMS Web Design: Participants were introduced to website development using Content Management Systems (CMS), gaining practical knowledge of how to create, manage, and maintain functional websites without needing advanced coding skills.
- Photography & Videography: Participants developed practical skills in photography, video production, framing, lighting, content creation, and basic editing, with a focus on skills applicable to freelance work and digital storytelling.
- Fashion Design: Participants received hands-on training in fashion design and garment production, equipping them with practical skills that can be developed into small businesses or income-generating opportunities.

Following the four-week training, participants will receive starter kits relevant to their chosen training areas. These kits are intended to give participants the basic tools and equipment they need to begin practicing their skills, taking on small jobs, and developing their own income-generating activities.

The project also includes a six-month mentorship phase. During this period, participants will continue to receive guidance and support as they apply the skills they gained during physical training. The mentorship phase will provide an opportunity for participants to strengthen their technical skills, receive feedback, navigate challenges, build confidence, and explore ways to turn their skills into sustainable livelihoods.

The project will conclude with a final-day showcase, bringing the participants together to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the training and mentorship period. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work, products, services, or creative projects and reflect on how much they have grown since the program began.

The showcase will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the participants' achievements and highlight the impact of economic empowerment in creating greater choices and independence for LBQGNC women.
